WL-3
At last there is a genuine analog console channel strip for the 500 series - the Lindell Audio WL-3. It has a Transformer'>Transformer-coupled microphone and line input, an output that is also Transformer'>Transformer-coupled and a 60 mm fader for the output. A compressor with parallel mix control and a 3-band EQ with tunable mids are at its heart.
There is also an 80Hz high-pass filter, a Polar_1'>Polarity switch and 48V phantom power - all in all, a serious channel strip. This module was designed by mastermind Paul Wolff, who has designed more legendary gear than most of us have used, in collaboration with Lindell Audio.
In his time at API alone, Paul Wolff designed the 550B EQ, the 512 and 3124 mic preamps, the Legacy console and the 2500 compressor. He was honored by the NAMM TEC Hall of Fame for inventing the lunchbox and the 500 Series format. The WL-3 is made in Europe and features a sturdy 8mm aluminum front panel.
