Personal Acoustic Advice with Experienced Partners

For a room assessment through GIK Acoustics, we generally require photographs, precise room dimensions and a description of the existing furnishings. This information can be used to create a digital model of the room and develop an individual recommendation for the appropriate acoustic treatment.

In most cases, we provide a measurement microphone on loan. This allows you to collect the required data in your own room. The measurement data is then forwarded to GIK Acoustics or mbAkustik for professional evaluation. In special cases, MeinMic can also assist with measurements or installation by prior arrangement. Our own involvement remains deliberately limited, while the detailed physical and acoustic assessment is carried out by the relevant specialists.

Room Acoustics Are Not the Same as Soundproofing

Our acoustic products are designed to improve the acoustic behaviour within a room for recording, monitoring, mixing and mastering. They are not automatically suitable for soundproofing or reducing sound transmission into neighbouring rooms.

Absorbers, bass traps and diffusers can improve reverberation, reflections and sound reproduction within your studio. They do not necessarily prevent music, voices or other sounds from travelling outside the room. If your actual goal is to protect neighbours or adjoining rooms from noise, the project needs to be planned differently.
